Happening Weekend: Exploring Toronto!

Toronto Weekend Events Listing for May 6 - 8, 2016

I'm so excited it's finally the weekend. And it looks like it's going to be (mostly) sunny the next two days. With so many fun and exciting events happening this weekend, it's the perfect time to get out and explore the amazing city of Toronto.

Here are my top picks for events and happenings in Toronto this weekend:

Lifestyle:
Get out and explore Toronto this weekend on one of the many free walking tours that are a part of the annual Jane's Walk Festival. There are a variety of free walking tours all over the city Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From ghost tours to nature and history walks and more, there is a walking tour for everyone.

Excited about Spring and the beautiful flowers it brings? Then head on down to the West Wing and Oak Room at Union Station for Blossom and Bloom this Saturday and Sunday. A variety of plants and flowers will be for sale as well as live music, a henna station, and a free flower sculpture garden.

Exhibits & Culture:
The world's largest photography event, Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival kicked off this week and runs for the whole month of May. With more than 200 events and 20 public art installations, Toronto has become a large museum, featuring works from both Canadian and international photographers.

Time is running out to visit the amazing Viva Mexico! Clothing and Culture exhibit at the ROM. Marvel at the colourful and beautiful clothing from Mexico before the exhibit ends this month.

North America's largest documentary festival, Hot Docs Festival, ends this Sunday. Don't miss out on your chance to see one of over 200 films from Canadian and International filmmakers.

Theatre & Music:
Canadian Music Week is in full swing and ends this Sunday. There are still plenty of great shows, films, and comedy shows to see this weekend.

Food & Drink:
Veggielicious starts today and runs for the next two weeks. Over 40 restaurants, cafes and bakeries across Toronto will feature vegan prix-fixe meals and dishes.

P.s!: This Sunday is Mother's Day (and my own Mom's birthday:). So don't forget to send some love to that special lady in your life!

P.s,
Melanie!
