Happening Weekend: Super Duper Spring Fun!

Toronto Weekend Events Listing for April 15 - 17, 2016

Finally it's starting to warm up a little in Toronto - and just in time for the weekend! If you are like me, you are itching to finally get out (without a winter coat on) and take part of some fun events happening across the city.

Here are my top picks for events and happenings in Toronto this weekend:

Lifestyle:
Just in time for Earth Day, starting today, the Green Living Show takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend. Explore over 400 exhibits that showcase environmentally friendly products, services and technological advances.

Starting a few weekends ago, Tommy Thompson Park hosts several Guided Nature Walks. Learn about the different species of animals and plants as well as a brief history of the park. This is a great way to get into the 'spring' spirit!

Saturday is World Record Store Day. If you are a fan of vinyl or just music, check out some local record stores around the city. There are lots of limited editions of records being released as well as special events and music performances.

Exhibits & Culture:
This is the last weekend of Fashion Art Toronto (FAT). If you haven't been, I highly recommend you go. Watch runways shows and see some local artists' work, for much less than a ticket to a Toronto Fashion Week show!

This is the last weekend to check out the fabulous Lyn Carter: 11th Line exhibit at the Textile Museum of Canada. It ends Sunday!

The annual Images Festival kicked off yesterday and runs until next Sunday. Catch a bunch of small experimental film screenings as well as other art installations, performances and more at several galleries across Toronto.

Are you already missing Comic Con? Then head over to The Super Wonder Gallery for the Super Duper Show featuring over 80 artists' work. Paintings, sculptures, installations, including a Giant Metropolis city scape will be on display and were inspired by Superheros and Supervillains. There is a reduced ticket price for those wearing a costume as well as a costume contest.

Shopping:
This Sunday you can Drop, Swap and Shop at Evergreen Brick Works. Drop off any old electronics or bikes, swap clothing, housewares and more; and shop from some Etsy Canada vendors. This is a great way to spring clean your home while picking up something new.

Bellwood Flea's Spring Fling happens this Saturday. Shop art, vintage, food, and more from tons of vendors. And as usual, enjoy screenings of classic movies as well as retro video games all while drinking booze.

Always wanted a designer wardrobe but just can't afford the designer price? Then head on over to the VandenBerg House this Saturday for the Vintage to Contemporary Designer Pop-Up Sale. Thousands of designer clothing pieces and accessories will be priced from $10 - $100!

P.s!: This Saturday is the start of The Raptors Fan Zone Party in front of The Air Canada Centre at Maple Leaf Square. The Fan Zone will be open about two hours before tip-off.

P.s,
Melanie!
