Toronto Weekend Events Listing for March 4 - 6, 2016
Not only is this the first weekend of March, but it's also the first weekend after my South American Adventure. And did I mention that today is also my birthday? So not only do I have some unpacking and laundry to do, I'm also going to go out and celebrate my Toronto homecoming as well as my birthday with some great events in the city.Photo: Now Toronto |
Lifestyle:
Celebrate Toronto's 182nd birthday at Celebrate Toronto's birthday bash at Steam Whistle on Saturday. There will be plenty of local artists, vendors, and entertainment as well as body painting.
Quote-along to one of my favourite movies starring one of my favourite entertainers at The Labryinth Quote-Along at The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema on Saturday. And did I mention props will be available?!
Kick off your pre-St. Patrick's Day celebrations by attending TIRFF 2016, The 6th Annual Irish Film Festival. The festival begins today at The TIFF Bell Lightbox and ends Sunday.
Exhibits & Culture:
Get lost in Song Dong's Communal Courtyard at The AGO or enjoy some Deliberately Ambiguous art down at The Harbourfront!
Theatre & Music:
Looking for a different musical experience? The New Creations Festival begins Saturday and runs until March 12. The music genre- bending lineup includes music by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, Afiara Quartet and DJ Skratch Bastid.
Get you belly laugh on at The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, which began yesterday and runs until March 13. Enjoy live, scripted comedy shows by some very funny comedians.
Shopping:
The Toronto Antique and Vintage Market and Toronto Vintage Clothing have again combined their forces and are back this Saturday and Sunday at The Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place. Like the title suggests, there will be plenty of unique and retro antiques and vintage items to peruse and buy.
P.s!: This Saturday is International Women's Day and there will be plenty #IWDToronto events to join and participate in around Toronto!
P.s,
Melanie!
