Happening Weekend: Art, Beer & Tea!

Toronto Weekend Events Listing for January 29 - 31, 2016

It's the last weekend of January and there is barely any snow on the ground in Toronto! It's a little unbelievable but I'm not complaining. And with the (not quite balmy) winter weather, it's the perfect time to get out and enjoy some great events happening in the city.

Here are my top picks for happenings and events across Toronto:

Lifestyle:
DJ Skate Night takes place this Saturday. With the warm(ish) winter temperature, this is a great time to strap on some skates and listen to some tunes.

Culture & Exhibits:
This is the last weekend of the stunning J.M.W. Turner exhibit at the AGO. It ends Sunday, so make sure you book tickets online before you go to ensure admission.

Tonight is the Winter 2016 Opening Party at The Powerplant Gallery.  Cocktails, music, art, and a free party- what more can you ask for?

Long Winter is turning the Galleria Mall into a giant art exhibit party on Saturday. If I wasn't saving for my South American trip happening in a week, I would definitely check Long Winter: Galleria out!

Food & Drink:
Winterlicious kicks off tonight and runs until February 11. Over 200 local restaurants are participating with plenty of special events at 'non-restaurants'. If you like food or just need to eat, there is something for everyone.

The annual Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival happens this Saturday at Steam Whistle. It's always a good time and a great way to day drink without too much judgement.

And if you didn't get your fill of beer on Saturday, A Taste of Holland is on Sunday at Hitch in Leslieville. Enjoy traditional Dutch treats and eats and of course beer.

If beer really isn't your thing, The Toronto Tea Festival is taking place this weekend at The Toronto Reference Library. The two day event will help you discover the world of tea with tastings, speakers and presentations. There will also be a silent auction and vendors.

P.s!: If you are like me and a little cash-poor (I'm traveling to South America in nine days!), there are plenty of free or cheap things to do around the city. Visit my Explore Toronto link to get some ideas!

P.s,
Melanie!
