Happening Weekend: Chase the Winter Blues Away!

Toronto Weekend Events Listing for January 15 - 17, 2016

Winter may have finally arrived in all it's cold and dark fury, but there are still plenty of things to do in Toronto this weekend that will help chase those winter blues away.

Here are my top picks for fun events and happenings in the city this weekend:

Lifestyle:
DJ Skate Night takes place again at The Harbourfront tomorrow night. Enjoy a night of ice and music overlooking the frigid Lake Ontario. And tonight (Friday) there will be a special David Bowie themed skate night from 8pm to 11pm.

High Park is hosting a Winter Fun Day filled with fun activities for the whole family like taffy pulling on Sunday.

Culture & Exhibits:
Long Winter kicks off its season with a party at The Great Hall. For $10 you can enjoy a night of music, performance and art.

Time is running out to catch the amazing Andy Warhol exhibit at TIFF and the beautiful J.M.W. Turner exhibit at the AGO.

Party the night away this Saturday at PULP: Paper Art Party takes place celebrating sustainable design.

Theatre & Music:
Next Stage Festival concludes this Sunday. Get your Fringe Festival fix now or you'll have to wait until June.

Shopping:
Gladstone Flea begins its winter series this Saturday. Vintage, unique, and 'etsy-shop' finds will be heavily featured.

If you didn't get your fill of flea market shopping at The Gladstone, head east on Queen Street West to Trinity Bellwoods Park. This Saturday marks the one year anniversary of The Bellwooods Flea and as always there will be plenty of unique finds to be found. Shopped out? There will be healthy dose of retro video games to be played and film screenings to be seen.

P.s!: If you can't make it to some of these events, don't fret - many of them of just the first of a series that will be taking place this long cold winter!

P.s,
Melanie!
