Skincare Review: Clean & Clear Skin!

Clean & Clear Oil-Free Skincare Routine Review

I was fortunate to be blessed with such fantastic skin that most people are shocked to hear my age (thanks mom). But because of this, I didn't really take care of my skin or follow a beauty routine when I was a teenager. Unfortunately ever since my twenties, I have struggled with large blemishes that appear out of the blue and take FOREVER to disappear. And now in my late thirties, this dilemma is not only still here, but has become increasingly embarrassing when dealing with the public and going out on dates (maybe this is reason people think I'm younger than I am?). So when I had the opportunity to test out Clean & Clear's Oil-free skincare routine, I jumped at the chance.

Who knows, maybe skincare products I should've used when I was a teen, will work now that I'm an adult?

I received the Clean & Clear Oil-free skincare routine to review which included Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Cleanser, Essentials Deep Cleaning Astringent, Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer, and Oil Absorbing Sheets. Because of my age I have several areas of concern with my skin. I have typical combination skin and several skin issues: my skin can get extremely dry and dull looking, I'm trying to keep those fine lines from appearing, and of course large blemishes that can appear on my chin, forehead, or jawline anytime they want to. Applying all the different creams to my face to combat age and dryness, can clog my pores and make me break out. I have 'Catch-22' skin. Yay (sarcasm)! So because of all these concerns I tried the Clean & Clear Oil-free free skincare routine several different ways.

(Un)luckily for me, when I received the Clean & Clear products, I was in the middle of a large breakout on my chin. I first tried the Morning Burst Cleanser which was great! It had a fabulous scent that helped me wake up in the morning, cleansed my skin thoroughly and rinsed off cleanly with no residue. Next was the tricky part - the Deep Cleaning Astringent. Using a cotton pad, I first used it all over my face, which quickly made it feel way very dry. It was the same with the Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. I applied it all over my skin the first two times and it made my aging skin feel way too tight and dry. But after the first initial uses, I only applied the astringent and moisturizer to my problem area, while I applied my regular anti-aging cream to the rest of my face and jackpot! Within two days, I already noticed my blemishes shrinking and disappearing. Yay (no sarcasm)! And as an added bonus, when I felt like my face was getting a little shiny throughout the day, the Oil Absorbing Sheets work like a charm at making my skin look less greasy and it didn't smudge my makeup.

After Use
I'm definitely going to keep using the Cleanser, the scent gives me that little extra burst of energy in the morning that I usually need. The Oil Absorbing Sheets are definitely being added to my purse for daily use to help with my selfie game, and the Moisturizer and Astringent I will keep around when my 'Catch-22' skin acts up and those pesky blemishes appear. All these Clean & Clear products can be found at mass retailers and drugstores for around $7 each.

P.s!: If you have skin like mine, using acne-fighting products just to the problem areas is a great way to combat the blemishes while not drying out the rest of your skin!

P.s,
Melanie!

  1. I used the astringent the same as you - just to problem areas! I actually really liked the smell of the moisturizer as well!
