Toronto Events Listing for Labour Day Long Weekend
It feels like the summer just began, especially with the heatwave going on in Toronto, but unfortunately this Labour Day long weekend is the unofficial last weekend of the summer (sigh). From watching vintage planes do sky acrobatics to dressing up as your favourite sci-fi character, there are many ways to say goodbye to summer in a big way. Here are my top picks for amazing events and happenings this long weekend in Toronto!:
Lifestyle!:
Celebrate the last weekend of the CNE with the Canadian International Air Show. I'll be watching the planes and listening to the roar from my balcony with a cocktail in hand.
Fan Expo invaded the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and will stay until Sunday. Catch a glimpse of some amazing costumes or a celebrity at an always interesting event.
Open Streets TO takes over parts of Bloor Street and Yonge Street on Sunday. Enjoy DJ's, Square dancing, yoga, and a whole lot more of great outdoor activities!
It's the last night of The Velvet Underground nightclub on Saturday. Say goodbye to a staple of the music rock scene of Queen Street West! I know I had many memorable nights there.
Exhibits & Culture!:
It's the last weekend to enjoy the free and amazing Panamania art exhibit at The Powerplant Gallery!
Artfest at The Distillery happens all weekend long until Monday. This fine art and craft show will not any feature amazing art vendors, but live music and entertainment as well.
Music!:
The fabulous all-girl rock band L7 performs Sunday at The Danforth Music Hall! Wargasm!
Shopping!:
The Parkdale Flea happens again this Sunday. Enjoy local artisans and vendors as well as some great street eats with the roar of The International Air Show overhead!
P.s!: It's a long weekend this weekend so get out there and make the last long weekend of summer!
P.s,
Melanie!
