Happening Weekend: Food & Music!

Toronto Events Listing For August Long Weekend 2015

It's going to another hot weekend, so if you are not lucky enough to own cottage (or know someone who does), there are plenty of music and food events to keep you occupied this long weekend.

Happening, weekend, caribana, events, festivals, august, long weekend, toronto, ontario, canada, the purple scarf, melanie.ps

Here are my top picks for events this weekend!:

Lifestyle:
Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival or Caribana (as most people still call it) has been happening across the city with various events for the past few weeks. The biggest event, the annual parade, takes place on Saturday along Lakeshore Blvd in front of exhibition Place. Tip: find a hole in the fencing and join in the parade!

Exhibits & Culture:
Enjoy the air conditioning and catch MOCCA's last Queen Street West exhibition Dean Baldwin: Q.W.Y.C.

Take advantage of the warm weather and tour the amazing free public art installations by Douglas Coupland!

Theatre & Music:
One of Toronto's most famous residents, Drake is back this summer with his three day OVO Fest, featuring a somewhat secretive music lineup including Drake himself.

Veld Music Festival returns to Downsview Park on Saturday and Sunday. Featuring Deadmau5, Kaskade and more, expect lots of sweaty glowstick clad attendees dripping in sweat from dancing all day and night.

Food & Drink:
Toronto's favourite food trucks will converge at Woodbine Park both Saturday and Sunday for the Toronto Food Truck Festival. Street eats and beats plus beer and kid's entertainment equals a fun day in the city.

It's a celebration of everything Pan Am this year in Toronto, and the Pan American Food Fest is no exception. Starting Thursday and continuing until Monday at Daniels Spectrum with over 40 nation's food and culture being showcased. Come hungry.

P.s!: If you are looking to relax and take it easy this weekend, visit my Explore Toronto page for tons of ideas on what to see and do in the city!

P.s,
Melanie!
