Happening Weekend: CONTACT, Movies & Bubbles!

Toronto Event Listing for Victoria Day Long Weekend, May 15 - 18, 2015

It's finally the long weekend - May 2-4 to us Canadians! It is the (un)official start to the Summer season (even though summer doesn't technically start until June 21). If you are not leaving the city, Toronto has plenty of fabulous events happening this weekend!

Exhibits & Culture:
Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, the world's largest photography event, is still going strong. With hundreds of exhibits, events, and installations across the city (usually free), I'm sure there is one you will love. I highly recommend the three exhibits at MOCCA.

It's the last weekend to visit the interesting Newcomb Pottery exhibit at Garrdiner Museum. It tells the story of some bad-ass ladies and Friday nights are half price admission!

Free movies at Bell's Free Weekend 2015 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. On Saturday and Sunday, enjoy free film screenings and family events from 10am - 6pm.

Food & Drink:
World Cafe starts this Saturday and runs until October. This event brings together some of Toronto's best eats down at the Harbourfront. And while you are down at the Harbourfront, make sure you check out the free really cool Deep Woods exhibits.

Head down to the Bloor Hot Doc Cinema for the third annual May 2-4 Kegger and screening of the ultimate party movie - Dazed and Confused!

Lifestyle:
Love soccer but afraid of getting hurt? Bubble Ball Fest is for you! Happening on May 18, you and your friends can strap on a bubble and run around crashing into each other, all while trying to score a goal!

Music:
Dance the day away at Electric Island. The party is happening at Hanlan's Point on Toronto Island May 18.

P.s!: And a great way to end the long weekend is to watch some fireworks! Click here for the top three places to watch fireworks this Victoria Day!

P.s,
Melanie!
