Makeup: Jet Set Into Fall with Revlon! + Giveaway!

Shake it Up in Shanghai Beauty Look Tutorial

I love to travel and have been to some amazing cities in the world. Although I haven't left Canada in a while, I can at least look like I have with Revlon's new beauty looks inspired from five of the most fashionable cities in the world.

Revlon has provided a 'passport' containing step by-step instructions on how to achieve these fabulous and simple looks: Pucker up in Paris, Be a New York Knockout, Be a London Lady, Strike a pose in Stockholm, and the look I tried out; Shake it up in Shanghai. I'm by no means an expert at applying makeup, so I love when companies like Revlon provide easy to follow steps to create simple yet dramatic looks.

At first I was a little skeptical when I received my makeup and boarding pass for Shake it up in Shanghai, I almost always never wear green on my eyes, and I never wear red on my lips, I thought those colors wouldn't suit me, but I was so wrong. I loved the end result! 

To achieve this look you first have to start with a fresh face, which I achieved using Revlon ColorStay Makeup in Ivory. I have been using this makeup for a couple of weeks now and will be posting a more in depth review soon.

The next step is creating the deep green smokey eye with Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks eyeshadow. I applied Moss on my lid from the inner corner to the centre of the eye. On the outer edge I applied the khaki shade and blended the colours together. 

Next I lined my lashes with Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Jade from inner to outer corner and created a smokey eye effect by smudging with the liner's sponge tip.

I then finished off with several coats of Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara in Blackest Black. I love the Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner and I am presently testing out all the colours. A more in depth review coming soon! I also added more definition to my eyebrows with some Anastasia Brow Powder.

I then applied Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in Shanghai Sizzle. I love Revlon's ColorStay Moisture Stains and own several shades. I normally avoid red lips, but after trying out Shanghai Sizzle, I will definitely add this shade into my lip color rotation!

And finally to finish off the look I applied Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy in Checkmate and Blackjack on every other nail. I sealed in the colour with Revlon Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat, I have been using Gel Envy for weeks, and am impressed with how long the colour lasts.

Overall, I am impressed with this look. I'm glad I tried it out, and even though it's not my usual colours, I will be sporting some Shaking it up in Shanghai while in Toronto from now on. The green tones of the Shadowlinks and red-orange lips created by the Moisture Stain, made a really fun and dramatic look and complemented my red hair and hazel eyes. Even the nail colours; Backjack (black) and Checkmate (nude) are two nail colours I hardly ever wear, but painting every other nail in each shade really created a funky look that I love.
