John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo & Conditioner Review
Over the summer time I received John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for colour treated hair, in a swag bag at a shopping event I attended. I started using them over two months ago, and I am quite happy with how soft they made my hair feel.I have never had an issue with volume with my hair. I have thick hair and a lot of it. But maybe because of aging, or colouring my hair for over two decades, I have noticed more hair in the shower drain ( I know- gross!). I also sometimes noticed my hair seemed flat and a little lifeless. So I decided to give the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner a try. Hey it was free so why not?
The first thing I noticed about the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo was that there is no scent. Which is good, if that is what you are looking for, but I love a nice soft clean scent in my haircare products. The shampoo goes on smoothly, but I have to use more than other shampoos I've tried like L'Oreal EverPure. It has a small lather and rinses out pretty well.
The John Frieda Luxurious Volume Conditioner performed just like the shampoo. There was no scent and even though I had to use more than usual, it did go on smoothly and rinsed out well. There was one major issue with the conditioner; John Frieda states that the Luxurious Conditioner "detangles while adding flexible firmness to hair strands". I actually found that it did not detangle my hair at all while in the shower. But I did find it easier to detangle afterwards while blow drying my hair. I also noticed my hair was shedding less, both in the shower and out.
I like how my hair looks while using these products. I found that it had more bounce, was soft, and my colour seemed to fade a lot less slowly. And if it could do that to my thick hair, I would love to hear how it worked for fine haired users! I did like these products, but I'm not in love with them. But I'm not the target user, I don't have fine hair. I probably had to use more of the shampoo and conditioner because I have thick hair. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner are available at most mass retailers and drugstores for around $8.00.
P.s!: This review has made me curious about the other John Frieda hair care lines and I am looking forward to testing them out. And as always I will be letting you all know how they fared! Stay tuned for future posts!
P.s,
Melanie!
