Explore Niagara Falls: Bachelorette Party Fun!

Tips on Planning a Niagara Falls Trip & Bachelorlette Party

Last month was my sister's Bachelorette party. Since I'm her Maid of Honour, I had the distinct (dis)pleasure of planning and organizing the event (just joking Sange!) My sister, who lives in Thunder Bay, wanted to go to Niagara Falls on an overnight trip, so I had to plan the whole day and night's activities for 4 ladies, who live across the province. After a lot of planning and researching, the weekend went off without a hitch and it wasn't that expensive. I bought discounted tickets online and booked events ahead of time which made the weekend a lot less stressful.

If you are planning a weekend visit to Niagara Falls, for an event or just to get away, I have some tips for you that will make the weekend more enjoyable and cost a lot less.

1. Have a plan!
Schedule events or places you want to see and do. But don't make the times set in stone, have some room to play with the times in case unforeseen things happen (like summer traffic). I created a docket with a schedule of the day's events that I gave to each girl. Not only did it contain the schedule for the day, but a map with the places we were visiting highlighted and important phone numbers (like taxi and hotel phone numbers) in case we got separated. It was also a great souvenir of the weekend!

2. Book hotel reservations and attraction tickets online and in advance to get a cheaper price!
My sister pre-booked our hotel a few months in advance online, after researching cheap hotel prices. We stayed at the Sheraton on the Falls in a large suite with an amazing view of the Falls for only $200 (that's $50 each!) I also pre-booked all the attractions I planned for us to visit (Ripley's Believe It or Not Odditorium, Lois Tussaud's Waxworks, and Nightmares Fear Factory) online to get a group and web only discount. We visited all these attractions for $30 each and didn't need to wait in any lines since we already bought our tickets!

3. Call ahead to get your name on the Guest List!
If you are going out to a bar or club at night, call ahead, you might be able to get VIP access so you don't have to wait in line or maybe not even pay cover charge. The second club our group went to was Rumours and since I called ahead, we didn't wait in line, and my sister received a "Brides Gift Pack" which included a feather boa and a free bottle of champagne!

4. D.I.Y. party favours!
If you are planning a bachelorette party, it's always fun to have personalized printed t-shirts or tanks tops, which our group had and wore throughout the day. Instead of getting them printed at a custom printed T-shirt place (which can be pricey depending on how many you are buying), I found iron on decals at The Stag Shop  and letters at Walmart, which I ironed on $2 tank top camis from Forever 21! I also made my sister's veil with cheap tulle I bought at a fabric store ($2) and hot-glued it to a Dollarama crown hairband that matched the crown hairbands all the girls wore.

5. Swag Bags are fabulous way to say thank you!
I started the weekend off with giving each girl a swag bag full of fun goodies. I got the bags, which were actually purses, from Dollarama. Inside each was a copy of the schedule, their personalized tank top, crown, and feather boa, and a bunch of beauty and makeup products and samples. Because I'm a blogger, I had a lot of these beauty products lying around, but I also got samples from the local drugstores. I also added some fun trinkets like cosmetic mirrors and Japanese style fans from Dollarama, and some gum, energy bars, and of course condoms!

The weekend turned out fabulous and was so much fun! It was a little hectic organizing the event, but because of the time I put into planning before, the party and trip was almost stress free and most importantly, my sister was so happy! Which is the most important thing, right??!!

Have you ever had some memorable moments in Niagara Falls or attended fun bachelorette parties? I would love to hear about them!

P.s: One of the bridesmaids lived in Australia, and couldn't make it back for the bachelorette party. To include her, I enlarged and printed out a picture of her face and stuck it on a stick. She came with us everywhere, even out to the club with her feather boa on! We kept posting pictures of her with us throughout the day, which she saw and loved! I also planned a time for us to Skype with her, so she could have a toast with us (even though it was 8am for her:)!
P.s,
Melanie!
