Shopping: Unique Experience at Toronto Premium Outlets!

Heya! A few Saturdays ago, I visited Toronto Premium Outlets for the first time. I have always drove by while traveling on highway 401, but never stopped. A friend of mine asked me to go, and I was curious about the stores at Premium Outlets, so I decided to accompany her. It definitely was a unique shopping experience. 

We drove the short 30 minute drive to Toronto Premium Outlets and I was happy to see the variety of stores. There are several designer stores like Burberry, Ted Baker of London, and Kate Spade among well known brand stores like J. Crew, Aldo, and Nike. But, it took us almost 45 minutes to find a parking spot. The lack of available parking spaces was appalling. My friend and I drove around the parking lot, with hundreds of other cars, trying to be in the right place at the right time, when a car pulls out. We finally lucked out when someone just pulled out in front of us and we quickly pulled into the suddenly vacated parking spot.

Toronto Premium Outlets is shaped like a long oval, so it was easy to navigate. The walkways to each store are covered, and there's a small outdoor play area for children. There is also a food pavilion building, with quite a disappointing selection of fast food. And trying to find a seat was almost as hard as trying to find a place to park our car! I was a little disappointed with some stores. Their "outlet discount" price is pretty much the same sale price that I can find at any other location. Or the stock was so old or damaged, that I wouldn't even spend $1 on it. But a few stores were well worth the trip. Ted Baker of London had excellent prices for their dresses, and Banana Republic had great sales for recent fashions. I also loved the unique clothing at Port 1961, which were priced quite reasonably. I ended up buying 2 fabulous summer dresses at Bench for about $20 each! I styled one of the dresses in my last Style Post (read it here).

Located in Halton Hills, just west of Toronto, Toronto Premium Outlets is only easily accessible by car. There is a nearby Go Train station, but you would still need to take a taxi from the station to the outlet mall. If you are looking for great deals on fabulous fashions, Premium Outlets is a "hit or miss". There are some great fashions and deals, but be prepared to search for what you want, and try not to be too disappointed in how much you actually pay.
