Beauty: Even Skin Tone With Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Foundation!

Heya! A few weeks ago I visited the Shoppers Drugmart in The Toronto Eaton Centre, on a mission to find a new liquid foundation that offers good coverage without looking too 'cakey'. Over an hour later I walked out with Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, and was very excited to test out my new find!

I have never had so much trouble trying to find liquid foundation, but the fabulous cosmetician at Shoppers Drugmart was so patient and determined to find a great product, that I was happy with. I wanted a foundation that provided excellent coverage (my skin has been having a lot of red breakouts lately) without looking like I'm wearing a lot of makeup. I tested several brands, and the main issue I was having was trying to match my skin tone. I seem to fall in between the two lightest shades in most brands. I guess I lost a lot of colour over the cold harsh winter this year. And when I finally found one that matched my skin tone, the coverage was too light or too 'cakey'. That's when the cosmetician finally suggested Bourjois Paris, a brand that I have never tried. Number 52 (Vanilla) matched my skin colour amazingly!

What first struck me about Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation was the light fruity scent. It is very refreshing and helped me feel more awake in the mornings. The scent does dissipate once the foundation is applied. The gel foundation goes on smooth and has light to medium coverage, blends extremely well, and evens out my overall skin tone. There are few problem areas that I feel like I need more coverage, so I just applied a second layer to those red spots and the yellow undertones of the gel foundation covered them well. I also like the pump on the bottle, makes it easier to control how much product I use and keeps bacteria out. The three issues I have with this foundation is that it transfers quite easily (even after using a powder) and it does not last 16 hours, like Bourjois Paris claims. More like 4 to 6 hours, depending on how much has transferred off. I would highly recommend to apply a powder after to set the gel foundation. Also there is no SPF, which is almost a requirement in foundations, in today's age. But for less than $30, this gel foundation is a good buy.

Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation contains three vitamin-rich 'super fruits': lychee, goji berries, and pomegranate; which Bourjois Paris claims "has an above-average nutritional profile compared with other fruit and an exceptionally rich anti-oxidant and vitamin content". Over time and regular use, this foundation is suppose to help my skin look more radiant, help even out my complexion, and make my skin look more radiant. Although I can't say for certain that this foundation actually does all this, my skin has been looking better over the past several weeks and has not had any adverse reactions to this product. Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation is also hypoallergenic and dermatological tested. Although I am happy with my purchase for now, I will be looking for a new foundation after I have finished this one. First, my skin colour will have changed after a few weeks of spring sunshine (when it finally comes), and I will be needing a foundation with SPF for the summer.
