Event: POD Party!

Heya! A few weeks ago, I was invited to partake in a POD Party to end the amazing TIFF Lightbox exhibition David Cronenberg: Evolution. During the exhibition there was an opportunity to visit the Body Mind Change "Lab" on the fourth floor of The Lightbox, where you can view different PODs growing, and get more information on how you can get your very own POD. To get my own POD, which stands for Personal On-Demand, I had to sign up online during the exhibit, and over the next several weeks, view 3 video segments and answer some very personal questions. The 3 different sections dealt with different moods and emotions and I was given a score for each emotion. The first was based on anger and fear, the second was about sadness and joy, and the third section was based on trust and disgust.

My POD was "born" and injected with my my score and answers for each section. Then once the POD reaches maturity, it is suppose to be implanted into my spine at the POD Party. The purpose of POD is to help enhance my life, making me faster, smarter, and healthier and help with my overall decision making.

In reality, POD is grown in a 3D printer based on my answers to the questionnaire. Each POD is unique to it's owner. My POD, which is named Elena, was extremely big. I don't really know if that's good or bad, but I do think it's quite a unique souvenir from an amazing exhibit. And the "implantation" was a temporary tattoo. Still pretty cool!

And P.s!: David Cronenberg: Evolution has left Toronto and is going on a world tour. The first stop of the exhibit is Amsterdam. Let's see how the Dutch feel about getting implanted!
