Style: Styling The Little Out Of The LBD!: Part 1

Heya! Karl Lagerfeld once said, "One is never over-dressed or under dressed in a little black dress". Well the same can be said for the long black dress, the new LBD. No woman should be without a long black dress in their closet! Especially now, as the seasons change and the the weather turns from hot to cool, a long dress is the perfect transitional piece. And the colour is so versatile that it can go from casual to elegant, day to night, with just the right accessories and styling!

I bought this beautiful LBD from Forever 21 and have styled it into 10 unique outfits. This Forever 21 dress fits amazingly! It has a pretty flowing chiffon skirt and flattering leather like bodice. Whatever the mood or occasion this LBD has got you covered! I just added some accessories and layering pieces and I'm ready to face whatever the day throws at me.

Over the next 3 posts, I'll be showing off how amazing the new LBD is!  This first post shows how the LBD can be styled in 3 different casual looks:

Look 1: Comfy Casual!:
This outfit was inspired by the long weekend! It is so comfortable, yet has very unique details. The sweater I picked up at a local vintage store for $10, and it is as comfortable as it looks! The scarf is my "go to" scarf that I wear with just about anything, and the sandals have a funky colouful design and are oh so comfortable. To add some unique style and to keep the outfit from looking too shabby, I added a fun bag I picked up on a trip to Holland, and some cool beaded earrings that are made by a local Native Artist, and a fabulous watch necklace that works!

Look 2: Sporty Spice!:
Spice up the LBD with some fabulous wedge heel Converse hi tops! These shoes definitely influenced this look. I added a fun graphic crop tee from Forever 21, and an vibrant bright orange bag, I picked up at a trade show. I also added aviator sunglasses from H&M, a basic black baseball cap from a friends closet,  and small Swarvoski earrings. And to finish off the look, a chic sporty jacket, I picked up from H&M. I love how all the strong colours come together in this look!

Look 3: For Those About To Rock!:
And sticking with influence from 90's music, I've styled the next outfit with a throw back to laid back grunge. I'm ready to rock in my comfy Doc Martens, plaid shirt and AC/DC graphic tee. I kept the accessories to a minimum with a necklace and bracelet I picked up at festivals, sunglasses from H&M, and a vintage cross body army green store bag.

So which casual look was your favourite! I would love to hear from you!

And P.s!: Most of the accessories and layering pieces are not brand new. You don't have to buy all new pieces! Just purchase a few key items, and add your own style with items from your closet and you have several new outfits!

P.s,
Melanie!
